Eyebrow Lift

Why choose a brow lift?

Surgical brow lifting can be an excellent choice for those seeking facial rejuvenation. With aging, the brows tend to droop, giving the face a tired, sad, or angry appearance. A surgical brow lift restores the brows to their natural position, giving the face a fresh and youthful look. This procedure reduces horizontal forehead wrinkles and vertical frown lines between the brows, contributing to a smoother skin appearance.
Additionally, a brow lift can open the eye area, making the eyes appear larger and more expressive. The procedure also helps correct brow asymmetry, creating a more balanced facial appearance. Many people opt for a brow lift to feel more confident in their appearance, as the procedure enhances self-esteem and provides a sense of satisfaction with their look.
Unlike non-surgical treatments, a surgical brow lift offers long-lasting results, often lasting for years. It can also be combined with other aesthetic procedures, such as face lifting or eyelid surgery, for comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

What does a brow lift achieve?

A brow lift gives both women and men a brighter and more youthful facial expression. This effect can be temporarily achieved with Botox, but for long-lasting results, a surgical procedure is the solution. This method can correct the height of the entire brows or just specific parts (the middle or outer sections).

Why is a brow lift performed?

With age, the skin and connective tissue lose elasticity, causing the space between the brows and eyelids to decrease. When the brows “droop,” the facial expression can appear tired, angry, or sad. Often, the eyelids droop simultaneously. If you want to restore a youthful appearance to your face, a brow lift is recommended.

What should you do before a brow lift procedure?

Before the procedure, it is essential to have a consultation with an aesthetic surgeon. During this session, the doctor will explain what can be achieved with the procedure and what results you can expect. Our goal is to provide an individualized approach for each patient, recommending the most suitable procedure to achieve the best results. Specific facial measurements will be taken with your eyes open and closed. Photos of your face will also be taken to compare the effects of the brow lift with the pre-procedure state.
A few days before the procedure, you should discontinue the use of aspirin, vitamin C, or other supplements.

How is a brow lift performed?

A brow lift is typically performed under intravenous sedation (analgosedation) or local anesthesia.
The procedure involves the use of threads that remain permanently beneath the skin, ensuring long-lasting results. Two main entry points are used: the central brow area or the ends of the brows. Through small punctures, threads are inserted beneath the skin of the forehead and anchored at the scalp, providing a secure lift.
During the surgery, you will not feel anything. The procedure lasts about 1 hour, and patients are usually discharged 3–4 hours after the operation.

Recovery after a brow lift

Complete recovery usually takes 5–7 days, at which point you will see the final results.
If you experience pain, you can take pain relievers recommended by your surgeon. Swelling is common during the recovery period, and you may also feel numbness in the forehead.
During the healing process, the brows may appear slightly higher than intended but will settle to the planned position over time.

What to do during the recovery period?

During the recovery period, avoid touching, scratching, or pressing on the incision sites. Refrain from frowning, raising your eyebrows, or engaging in similar facial expressions involving the forehead area.

You can wash your hair only after three full days. For the next 14 days, avoid dyeing, bleaching, or perming your hair.
Apply cold compresses, and when lying down, keep your head elevated on a pillow.
Avoid strenuous physical activities for the next 15 days.

Which aesthetic procedure pairs well with a brow lift?

To achieve a fully rejuvenated facial appearance, it is recommended to combine a brow lift with an eyelid lift.

Risks after a brow lift

As with any surgery, there are risks of bleeding and infection. However, complications are extremely rare when the procedure is performed by an experienced surgeon in fully sterile conditions and with strict adherence to protocols. These are precisely the conditions we provide at the Georgijev Center for Aesthetic Surgery.
