Brow lift
What does brow lift achieve?

Brow lift makes the face look bright and youthful in both women and men. This effect can be achieved by Botox, but if you want permanent results, the solution is a surgical procedure. In this way, it is possible to correct the height of whole eyebrows, or just one part of them (middle or outer).
Why is a brow lift done?
The skin and connective tissues lose their elasticity as we age, so the space between eyebrows and between eyebrows and eyelids decreases. When our eyebrows “fall“ our facial expression looks as we are tired, angry, or sad. Usually, the eyelids “fall“ at the same time. If you want to regain the youthful look of the face, it is recommended to have a brow lift.
What should you do before the brow lift procedure?
Before the procedure, you must have a consultation with the cosmetic surgeon. On that occasion, the doctor will explain what can be achieved by this procedure and what results you can expect. Our goal is to approach every patient individually and to recommend the most suitable procedure which will give the best results. We will have to measure certain parts of your face both with open and closed eyes. To compare the effects of the procedure with the original state, we take photos of the face.
You should stop taking anti-inflammatory medicines and those medicines that affect blood thinning (ibuprofen, aspirin, warfarin, and such).
How is the brow lift done?
The brow lift is usually performed under local anesthesia or analgosedation.
The brow lift is done with the thread that stays under the skin permanently, so the result is also permanent. The technique used is a so-called mid-brow entrance (through the middle part of the eyebrows) or through the ends of the eyebrows, which means that the thread will be pulled under the skin of the forehead to the hairy part of the head, where it gets fixed.
During the surgery, you will not feel anything. The procedure lasts for about half an hour. The patient is usually released home in as long as 3-4 hours after the operation.
How long does the recovery last and how will you feel after the brow lift?
Usually, it takes 5-7 days to fully recover. Then you will see the final result.
If you experience pain, you can take a painkiller recommended by the surgeon.
You will have swellings in the recovery period, and you can also feel numbness in the forehead.
The eyebrows will be slightly more lifted in this period, and then they will lower to the height that you planned before the surgery.
What should you do in the period of the recovery?
In the period of the recovery, do not touch, scratch, or press places where incisions were made. Avoid frowning, lifting eyebrows, or similar facial expressions in the forehead zone.
You can wash your hair only after whole three days. Avoid dying and bleaching the hair and putting the perm.
Put cold compresses on it. And when you sleep, lie on an elevated pillow.
Do not expose yourself to any intense physical efforts for 15 days.
With which other cosmetic procedure does brow lift combine well?
If you want to achieve the full effect of a rejuvenated face, it is recommended to do the upper eyelid surgery together with the brow lift.
Are there any risks and dangers of complications?
As with any surgery, there are risks of allergic reaction to anesthesia, thrombosis, bleeding, and infection, but they are brought to a minimum when the surgery is performed in a completely sterile operational room and when the procedure is conducted according to a strict protocol by an experienced surgeon. And those are the exact conditions that we provide in the Center for Cosmetic Surgery Georgijev.
